Strategic Opportunity Wingstop Presentation

In a team-based project, we conducted an in-depth strategic analysis of Wingstop, exploring how the company could expand and improve in a competitive fast-casual market. Through market research, financial modeling, and industry benchmarking, we developed a forward-thinking growth strategy and presented our recommendations to a panel of business professionals. Our team showcased strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and collaborative leadership. This experience strengthened my skills in strategic planning, business analysis, and professional presentation.

Design Thinking Project

In a team-based project, we addressed the lack of adequate recreational space for Biola students to foster meaningful communities. Using the IDEO methodology (Discovery, Interpretation, Ideation, Experimentation, and Evolution), we developed an innovative solution and presented our process in a 20-minute presentation. Our team demonstrated creative confidence, highlighted effective team dynamics, and integrated faith principles throughout the project. This experience sharpened my skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.

Target Corporation (TGT) Financial Analysis Project

In an extensive project, our team conducted a detailed examination of Target's financial reports and overall trends, thoroughly analyzing a plethora of their documentation. To gain valuable insights, we diligently compared their performance to one of their major competitors, Walmart. Our comprehensive analysis resulted in specific and actionable recommendations based on our findings. This experience sharpened my financial analysis skills and reinforced the importance of data-driven decision-making.

Medical Missions Trip to Uganda: Summer 2024

In summer 2024, I participated in a medical missions trip to Uganda, focusing on providing aid to remote villages. Our team traveled to under-resourced areas, where we assisted in delivering basic medical care and supplies, and supported efforts to improve local health education. The experience not only deepened my understanding of global health challenges but also allowed me to contribute to the well-being of communities that lack access to essential healthcare services. This trip was a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, service, and teamwork in making a meaningful impact.

Department Coordinator - Student Missionary Union

I led a team of 11 members responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the prayer and worship program for the largest student-run mission conference in the world. This role involved training staff, overseeing logistics, and coordinating event planning with ten program directors. I facilitated ten sessions featuring five keynote speakers and engaged over 4,000 participants. Additionally, I organized and directed weekly staff meetings to ensure smooth communication and efficient execution of the program.

Medical Missions Trip to Armenia: Summer 2022

In the summer of 2022, I participated in a medical missions trip to Armenia, where we worked closely with local churches to provide essential care to underserved communities. Our team set up mobile clinics in church facilities, offering free medical consultations, distributing necessary medications, and connecting patients with ongoing healthcare resources. These churches became hubs of hope and support, allowing us to reach a broad range of individuals, from families to elderly citizens. The trip not only emphasized the importance of holistic care but also strengthened the bonds between faith and community service.

Testimonials

"no task too big or too small for Nolan"

There was no task too big or too small for Nolan to take on, and proved himself to be a reliable, trustworthy member of the team... Nolan has a humble spirit, quick to admit when he doesn't understand something, but also fantastic at retaining information and building upon his skillsets. Nolan is a dedicated employee, a constant encouragement and positive influence on those around him, and a man of integrity. Any employer would be lucky to have Nolan join their team, and if I had the opportunity to hire Nolan again in the future, I would do it in a heartbeat.

- Katie Hendrickson, Executive Assistant to the President at AIT Worldwide Logistics

"all-time record by any student in 18 years"

I had the privilege of teaching Nolan in Fall 2023 as a student in the third-year accounting course Cost Accounting. Nolan proved to be an exceptional student. I have taught this course for 18 years, and Nolan set an all-time record by any student in those 18 years for the highest cumulative grade in the course. Nolan had a strong work ethic as a student, and I have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset to any company. I highly recommend him.

- Philip Massey, Senior Corporate Auditor
at Southern California Edison

"problem-solving skills, natural leadership, and intelligence"

I’ve had the privilege of working with Nolan on several challenging projects, and his problem-solving skills, natural leadership, and intelligence always stand out. What really sets him apart, though, is his ability to stay calm under pressure and keep the team motivated. He’s not only brilliant but also a genuinely great team player, always making sure everyone’s input is valued.

- Ezekiel Paquette, Student at Biola University
